UCCS Navs Enjoy Rocky Mountain Retreat

Fifty students and staff from UCCS joined 500 other Navigators from New Mexico, Colorado and Wyoming. Our students LOVED being together in Estes Park, CO for our regional Navigators fall retreat. We heard great messages by Tom Yeakley to motivate and challenge us to live by faith in God's Word. We have seen phenominal growth this year and are grateful that God has allowed us the privilege of being a part of it all.

If you'd like to pray for us, would you pray that God would raise up more student leaders? We believe that's what the Navs at UCCS are about - Asking "the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest." Matthew 9:38

Blizzard '06

John and his new bride Melissa are home from Florida - just in time to play in the snow!
Wow! We've been hammered by the best snow storm in memory! Joy's flight from L.A. was cancelled, so she DROVE all the way to Colorado Springs. Her husband Joe was already here on Nav business, so now we're all here for a fun, snowy, white Christmas.

I'll be home for Christmas

Yea - All of the kids are coming home for Christmas!

This has been a different experience for us this year. Not only do we have three married children, but two of them are farther away than we've ever had to experience. John and his new bride Melissa will be joining us from Florida. Joy and her husband Joe will travel from California.

Of course we are grateful that Kristi and her husband Jens, as well as David and Paul will all travel from Fort Collins (about 2 hour drive). Amy will be so glad that there will be more than just "old people" to talk to.

All of us gathered for Joy and Joy's Wedding in July.

She's blossoming

What happened to our little girl? She has become a young woman. Her 3 brothers have already put the word on the street that guys better treat her right or they have to deal with THEM!

This year has become all about friends. She's always either hanging out with them or talking about hanging out with them. We're pleased that she has taken an active role in pointing her friends to Jesus. She is regularly asking us for scripture that can encourage and direct her friends.

He's all Grown up!

We are so proud of Paul. He has matured so much over the last year.

Graduating from high school was good, but he has really come alive in his college studies. He's pulling down A's and loving it!

Of course he is studying some of his favorite things - like political science and ethics.

Paul is tying in with the Navigators at CSU. He continues to grow like a weed spiritually. It's going to be so cool to see how God uses his life.
He's also dating a great gal - Lindsey (sorry no pics right now).

What a Guy!

We are so encouraged with David and all that he is becoming. Dave's been plugging away at his degree and working at - my favorite place - Starbucks. He's also been leading a small group Bible study and mentoring a few guys in thier faith.

Dave's got incredible talent. He's been leading worship for The Navs at CSU as well as at his church - North Point Community Church.

God has blessed him with a wonderful girl - Pamela! She has been his friend, ministry partner and #1 supporter.

Weddings Galore!

This has been a year of weddings at our household. Kristi married Jens Davis in February, John and Melissa Straight were wed in May and Joy and Joe Maschhoff married in July. We look forward to being with all of them this Christmas.

Jens is such a perfect match for Kristi. They both are more quiet personalities, love all of their pets and have unbeleivably tender hearts toward people.

They continue to live in Fort Collins, CO.

Melissa compliments John in so many ways. She is so pleasant and sweet. She is friendly. She has a great heart for the Lord and desires to serve Him with all of her heart. They moved to Gainsville, FL this summer to finish their Edge Corps training with The Navigators at the University of Florida.

Joy found a great guy in Joe. He's a strong yet caring leader. He treats her like the princess that she is.
They live in Los Angeles, CA where Joy is a fourth grade teacher and Joe provides leadership for the Navigators college ministries in CA, AZ and NV.
